The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Western Visayas is one of the partner agencies in the Memorandum of Understanding Ceremony.
Last April 30, 2026, the Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony with selected government agencies, non-government organizations, and partner communities. The activity aimed to strengthen collaboration, partnerships, and linkages in implementing various social development initiatives to address pressing social and environmental challenges.
Among the partners that participated in the MOU signing ceremony was the Department of Social Welfare and Development, particularly for programs under the Conditional Cash Transfer Program, popularly known as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
The University also entered into partnerships with barangays and schools under the Center for Mangroves and Marine Biodiversity Conservation, including Barangay Dangula-an, Anilao, and Barangay Nabitasan, Leganes, as well as Dangula-an Elementary School and Bongsu-an Elementary School located within these communities.
In addition, the University signed an MOU with Tapikan Elementary School to implement Project ETC, which focuses on providing feeding assistance and school supplies. Another partnership was established with Barangay Mainguit, Badiangan, Iloilo, and Mainguit Elementary School to maintain and sustain the water-harvesting project.
Furthermore, the University strengthened its collaboration with the Junior Chamber International, with whom the College of Arts and Sciences has previously partnered in various social and environmental development initiatives.
