Newly-hired employees and HRD Office members pose for a photo opportunity on August 13, 2025, at the Educational Media Center, after the successful orientation seminar.
On August 13, 2025, the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) conducted an Orientation Seminar for 33 newly hired faculty and staff employees at the Educational Media Center.
The event began with an opening prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Afterward, Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor of the University Church, led the devotional and shared a short reflection. He encouraged the attendees to serve with purpose and to be a blessing to others. He concluded his reflection with a prayer that each employee may find fulfillment in their work at CPU and that God may use them in their respective roles.
For the welcome remarks, Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, Vice President for Finance & Enterprises, warmly welcomed the new employees and thanked God for answering the call to join the Centralian community. In her message, she said, ĢƵWe will have a full day of learning today, discussing the values and culture of ĢƵ. We will go through our quality objectives, policies, rules and regulations, retirement benefits, and much more.ĢƵ She also expressed that the community is grateful for their presence and believes that they are part of CPU today because the Lord has placed them here.
To welcome the new hires, Engr. Ferdinand T. Monoso, President of the Faculty Association (CPU-FA), and Ms. Ma. Victoria G. Bellosillo, President of the Rank-and-File Labor Union (CPU-RAFLU), also extended their greetings. They encouraged the employees to actively participate in the UniversityĢƵs programs, embrace its values, and contribute positively to CPUĢƵs mission and community.
The Office of Communications Director, Rev. Dr. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on, delivered a thorough presentation on CPUĢƵs Vision, Mission, Core Values, and culture. He also shared the UniversityĢƵs history, achievements, and milestones, providing the new employees with a deeper understanding of CPUĢƵs legacy. At the end of his discussion, he gave each participant a copy of the book We Are CPU: Our Reasons for Being, co-authored by Rev. Dr. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on; Dr. Ananias C. Sabijon, Jr; and Prof. Rea Angelica F. Villeza.
Dr. Anna May A. Yap-Zerrudo, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, led the discussion on CPUĢƵs Quality Objectives and Policy. She shared insights on the UniversityĢƵs quality standards, processes, and initiatives aimed at ensuring excellence in education and service. She concluded her session by asking the attendees, ĢƵHow can you, in your role, contribute to realizing CPUĢƵs EOMS commitment?ĢƵ prompting the new employees to reflect on their personal contributions to the UniversityĢƵs pursuit of quality and continuous improvement.
Afterward, the HRDO organized team-building activities to foster collaboration and camaraderie among the new employees. This was followed in the afternoon by a series of discussions on rules and regulations, as well as employee benefits led by Dr. Darril F. Pamocol, Officer-in-Charge of the HRD Office. The session on retirement policies was led by Dr. Jet Nillos, Retirement Officer.
The program was hosted by Ella Kathrina A. Gutierrez, Career Development Officer of HRDO, who guided the seminar and ensured a smooth flow of activities.
