Representing ĢƵ, Frances Dhayanah Villaruel Leonora celebrates her journey as 1st Runner-Up, showcasing CPU’s values of excellence, service, and advocacy.
Frances Dhayanah Villaruel Leonora, a 20-year-old second year Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting student at ĢƵ (CPU), added another feather to her cap by being named Ms. Regional Ambassador of Goodwill ĢƵ 1st Runner-Up during the prestigious competition held at the University of San Agustin-Iloilo on January 19, 2025. Organized by the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA) – Region VI, the event brought together outstanding individuals from across the region to celebrate leadership, advocacy, and community service.
The Miss Ambassador of Goodwill title represents more than just a crown; itĢƵs a commitment to promoting humanitarian efforts, fostering positive change, and serving as a beacon of hope within communities. Recipients of this title actively engage in advocacies such as education, health, and environmental sustainability, encouraging others to contribute to societal welfare.
When asked about her inspiration to represent CPU in the competition, Frances shared, ĢƵMy inspiration stems from a profound commitment to my community and the values instilled in me by this esteemed institution. ĢƵ has nurtured a sense of service and excellence within me, empowering me to champion causes that uplift and inspire others.ĢƵ
FrancesĢƵ journey to the crown was marked by dedication and preparation. Her accolades during the competition, including Best in Mock Interview and Best in Gown, were a testament to her hard work. She credits her mentorsĢƵSir Xavier Brian Gargalicano, Sir Paul Cornel Dela Cruz, and Franz Oliver NaelgasĢƵfor their guidance and support. Her gown, a creation of designer Sir Fritz Caancan, perfectly embodied elegance and grace, complementing her natural poise.
For Frances, the most memorable moments during the competition were the connections she formed with fellow contestants and the personal growth she experienced. ĢƵOne of the most memorable moments was a heartfelt group discussion about our passions and dreams. This experience taught me the importance of empathy and collaboration,ĢƵ she recounted. ĢƵWinning the title is a dream come true, but the friendships and shared experiences are the true rewards.ĢƵ
As 1st Runner-Up, Frances plans to use her platform to inspire fellow Centralians and beyond. ĢƵI envision organizing workshops and outreach programs that empower individuals to harness their unique talents for the greater good,ĢƵ she said. She also aims to amplify positive narratives on social media, encouraging young people to become proactive changemakers.
FrancesĢƵ advocacy focused on empowering youth through education and mental health awareness, a theme that deeply resonated with the judges and audience. Her genuine desire to connect and make an impact helped her stand out, earning her titles such as Miss PWC Award and Best in Casual Wear.
Frances expressed her heartfelt gratitude to CPU and the Junior Philippine Association of Management Accountants (JPAMA) Organization for their unwavering support. ĢƵThe values instilled in me during my time at CPU have shaped my character and resolve, equipping me with the tools needed to face challenges head-on,ĢƵ she shared.
