A CEW convocation in University Church during the Second Semester of School Year 2019-2020.
ĢƵ will hold the first virtual Christ Emphasis Week celebrations for the first semester on November. Details on the final date will be announced soon.
This semesterĢƵs theme, ĢƵLSI on a PPEĢƵ (Love-Sustained-Individuals on Promised-Propelled Existence), focuses on GodĢƵs loving power and promise in these uncertain times. The theme is based on Romans 8:35-39.
ĢƵAs LSIĢƵs, we are love-sustained-individuals. God, in His love, sent His son Jesus to save us from sin and death. It is a kind of love that, in St. PaulĢƵs words, ĢƵnothing can separate us fromĢƵ; not even the awful threat of death,ĢƵ said University Church Senior Pastor Rev. Cris Amorsolo Sian.
Rev. Sian also emphasized that even as God’s beloved, we are not immune from suffering and the Bible reminds us that God’s love is greater than all powers that threaten to crush us down.
ĢƵFurthermore, we are encouraged as believers to live a promise-propelled-existence (PPE). We are enjoined by the Christ who has called us not to be paralyzed by fear but be propelled by faith in God who promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Sustained by GodĢƵs promises, we are admonished to live out our calling to be the ĢƵlight and saltĢƵ of the earth. We pray, therefore, that everyone (especially the afflicted) will see the face of the loving Christ in the way we live, serve and love,ĢƵ he added.
To adhere to health and safety protocols, the Christ Emphasis Week will be held virtually and will air on CPU TVĢƵs YouTube channel and Facebook page.
