ĢƵ (CPU) proudly co-hosted the International Healthcare Conference held at the Royal Cliff Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, from November 3 to 5, 2025, bringing together delegates from 23 countries under the theme ĢƵTranslational Research on Innovation, Digitalization, and Sustainability.ĢƵ
JARO, ILOILO CITY ĢƵ ĢƵ (CPU) proudly co-hosted the 1st International Healthcare Conference held at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, from November 3ĢƵ5, 2025. The event gathered delegates from 23 countries under the theme ĢƵTranslational Research on Innovation, Digitalization, and Sustainability.ĢƵ
CPU was represented by a strong delegation of faculty and student researchers. Dean Melba C. Sale served as plenary moderator, while Dr. Charlie D. Baldon and Dr. Sarla F. Duller moderated the oral research presentations.
The participation was made possible through the support of CPUĢƵs International and Linkages Office coordinator, Asst. Prof. Alvin John Gustilo, and Dr. Baldon, who facilitated the travel arrangements with assistance from the CPU administration. The initiative aligns with the College of NursingĢƵs goal to internationalize research exposure for both faculty and students after the pandemic.
CPU College of Nursing (CON) alumna Prof. Lovil Acedera also played a significant role in paving the way for CPU CON to become a co-host of the event.
The conference, organized by Burapha UniversityĢƵs Faculty of Nursing, attracted over 600 healthcare professionals from 52 organizations. It featured keynote speakers, panel discussions, and 141 research presentations, including a plenary address by former CPU College of Nursing Dean and Commissioner Salex E. Alibogha titled ĢƵBeyond Crisis: Navigating One Health Responses for a Resilient Future.ĢƵ
Taking the Global Stage
A highlight of CPUĢƵs participation was the presentation of undergraduate research focusing on digital innovation and simulation-based learning.
BSN 4-D students Limbungan and Lirazan presented Utilization of Technological Learning Platform and Class Performance Among Student Nurses in a Selected University in Iloilo City, under the guidance of Dean Melba C. Sale.
BSN 4-F students Vito and Yngayo delivered Knowledge and Perceived Readiness of Clinical Instructors in Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Education, advised by Assoc. Prof. Raymund H. Partisala.
BSN 3-E students Panizal and Paniagua presented Adaptability, Engagement in Technological Applications, and Academic Performance Among Student Nurses in a Selected University in Iloilo City, advised by Prof. Rockie Cordero.
BSN 4-B researcher Cruz showcased Self-Assessment of High-Fidelity Simulation-Based Training and Clinical Performance Among Student Nurses at a Private University in Iloilo, under Prof. Betty Polido.
BSN 4-D student Layo presented Attitude Towards Simulation-Based Training, Level of Engagement, and Clinical Performance of Student Nurses in a Private University, advised by Dr. Duller.
Faculty and Panel Support
CPU faculty and alumni also played vital roles throughout the conference.
Dr. Duller, Dr. Baldon, and Asst. Prof. Alvin served as panel moderators, while Assoc. Prof. Lian D. Celo was a panel member for oral presentations. Prof. Chris Tejada and Prof. Chris Tapic, both part-time faculty and alumni, also participated. Prof. Acedera, a former online Transcultural Nursing instructor, contributed to planning and mentoring. Prof. Belmis coached the student presenters, while Prof. Penaso, Prof. Sampiano, Prof. Soledad, and Prof. Able formed the CPU documentation team.
Preparation for International Exposure
According to Dean Sale, the team underwent rigorous preparation through meetings, orientations, and travel briefings before departing for Thailand.
ĢƵThey should present at their best because they are carrying the name of the university,ĢƵ she said.
Global Research Learnings
Dean Sale emphasized that students gained valuable insights from exchanging ideas with international researchers.
ĢƵStudents can learn from others through the sharing of best practices based on the research results presented from other schools,ĢƵ she said.
She also expressed great pride in the studentsĢƵ professionalism and confidence.
ĢƵThe students delivered their research results as if they were already professionals,ĢƵ she said.
Continuous Improvement
Reflecting on the experience, Dean Sale noted that international exposure affirmed CPUĢƵs initiatives and direction.
ĢƵWhat we already have here will be validated to know that we are on the right track,ĢƵ she said.
She added that collaboration strengthens institutional excellence.
ĢƵYou learn best practices from others to improve your own,ĢƵ she said.
Shared Purpose
Dean Sale also highlighted the common mission that united participants from different cultures.
ĢƵDespite us coming from different cultures, we have only one goal, and that is to create an impact,ĢƵ she said.
Ultimately, CPUĢƵs participation in the International Healthcare Conference showcased the universityĢƵs commitment to innovation in nursing education while strengthening its global presence.
