The ĢƵ Republic (CPUR) officially welcomed the newest batch of Centralians through its much-awaited Freshmen Orientation held on July 30, 2025, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. The Filipino-themed event encapsulates the arrival of the freshmen class, riding to their new home, the ĢƵ.
Spearheaded by Senator Reanna Gabrielle Guanzon, in partnership with the CPU Communication Circle, the event was organized to introduce first-year students to the CPUR officials, the CPUR policies, and recognition of the UniversityĢƵs official student publication, The Central Echo. The program also recapped the accomplished events of the Republic during the summer term.
With a folk-dance number from the CPU CON Cultural Dance Troupe, the tone was officially set for the highlight of the program, the Your Face Sounds Familiar competition. Ten (10) competing colleges namely CAS, CBA, CCS, COED, COE, CHM, CMLS, CON, COP, and COT, brought iconic Filipino celebrity impersonations on stage. After their showcase of talents, the winners were announced as follows:
🏆 Champion ĢƵ College of Hospitality Management (CHM)
🥈 1st Place ĢƵ College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS)
🥉 2nd Place ĢƵ College of Engineering (COE)
Raffle prizes and vouchers sponsored by Ragoomu were given to lucky winners. With an afternoon full of festivities, the program officially ended with the socials hour.
The program was a celebration of new beginnings, new connections, and new discoveries.
