The CPU College of Law kicked off the new academic year with a successful orientation on August 28, 2024, held at the CPU Educational Media Center.
The event began with a prayer led by Assistant Dean Atty. Liza Lyn Lamason-Garcia, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy delivered the welcome message, reflecting CPUĢƵs continued commitment to engaging more deeply with the legal professional community.
ĢƵToday, you are given the opportunity to know the about the rules of our University, regulations, and policies which are essential to you effectively navigate your student experience here at ĢƵ,ĢƵ Dr. Dagohoy said. ĢƵOur primary goal while you are here is to educate you in such a way that when you leave the halls of Central, where we highlight both science and faith and strive to deliver Exemplary Christian Education for Life (EXCEL).ĢƵ
Atty. Aila Rae B. Endonila, Dean of the CPU College of Law, introduced the prominent individuals who make up the college’s faculty and staff. As each professor and staff member was introduced, the attendees from different year levels responded with resounding cheers and applause. A series of video presentations followed, providing essential information about the institutionĢƵs policies and general services. Dean Endonila then shared the CPU College of Law policies, including the class beadles, classroom assignments, library hours, retention policy, dress code, grading system, and grievance policy.
The orientation also featured heartfelt and inspiring messages from Atty. Jessa P. Uychiat and Atty. Sainthia A. Sorilla, who shared their unique experiences and undertakings they faced despite their respective challenges.
ĢƵBear in mind that it is okay to be tired, itĢƵs okay to be exhausted, and sometimes itĢƵs okay to cry, but we should never quit,ĢƵ Atty. Uychiat emphasized in her speech.
This yearĢƵs orientation concluded with a series of games organized by the CPU College of Law Student Council. The event underscored the institutionĢƵs dedication to creating a supportive and engaging environment for its law students.
