CPUCBA wins 5th Runner-Up in CPUR Create SDG: LGU Project Pitching 2026, honoring quality education through their project proposal.

The ĢƵ College of Business and Accountancy (CPUCBA) Provincial Council participated in the ĢƵ Republic (CPUR) Create SDG: LGU Project Pitching 2026 on February 6, 2026, at the Education Media Center Conference Room, showcasing their project proposal with passion and purpose.

The collegeĢƵs entry, titled ĢƵProject EduKaLinga: Edukasyong Kalidad at May KalingaĢƵ distinguished itself as a premier community-based education initiative. Guided by the principles of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, the project was designed to mitigate learning loss among elementary school students through targeted interventions.

Project EduKalinga focuses on Abat Elementary School in Mina, Iloilo. Through the utilization of the Barangay Abat Learning Center, the initiative provides free remedial reading and numeracy sessions led by student volunteers. The project includes regular weekend tutorials, interactive enrichment programs and proactive stakeholder engagement. It aims to improve literacy and numeracy skills, promote holistic learner development, and foster a reading-friendly environment in the community.

The success of the pitch was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the project proponents: Blanche Faith C. Margate, Maria Therese Sucgang, Mylz Marie Paclibar, Jade Margaret J. Arevalo and Arby Rose S. Segunia. Their presentation emphasized that quality education must be inclusive, accessible, and deeply rooted in community cooperation, earning the team a 5th Runner-Up distinction.

Through Project EduKalinga, the CPUCBA Provincial Council continues to demonstrate that business and accountancy students are not only adept at technical management but are also compassionate leaders dedicated to honoring the SDG and fostering an academically empowered community.
